Leipzig. Photography since 1839

Peter Oehlmann, from Greyland Images, Leipzig 1987

That's the name of an ambitious project that presents pictures from almost 200 photographers in three (!) Leipzig museums. I do not conceal my skepticism about such mammoth exhibitions. Too often, city marketing seems to be the only inspiration for such projects. So I would have located the poster in its quaint cute manner rather in the other Saxon metropolis. The website is also pretty ugly.

On the other hand, with Christoph Tannert (Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin) as curator, supported by Jeanette Stoschek (MdBK Leipzig), Eberhard Patzig (GRASSI Museum Leipzig) and Christoph Kaufmann (Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Leipzig), not too much should go wrong, one hopes.

As Göran Gnaudschun aptly wrote, the opening will probably be a kind of class reunion. Let's look at it!
