Another exhibition from the wild years in that now finally mythycized country called GDR is almost completely to see again – in 1988, that means, according to the New-Great-German era, in year 1 before the changes, Jens Rötzsch and me showed PROTOKOLL STRECKEN – Pictures from the Social Life  in Judy Lybke's Leipzig-based gallery Eigen+Art.

The interaction of my silent, big, gray and Rötzsch's loud, bright and straight images developed a new, apparently also satirical potential. The eviction and the short-term ban on the exhibition by the Stasi and the Volkspolizei proved to be an involuntary but highly effective promotion and brought us record numbers of visitors.
